I love this time of year, I'm sad Christmas is over but the Valentine's Day season is upon us! Plus February is my birthday month so it is extra special for me.

Unless you have decided on a slumber party, then it will be pyjamas all around! Remember you don't need matching pyjamas, wearing what you already own is the most sustainable thing you can wear.

When it comes to Galentine's Day decorations, I love a pink colour scheme. Pink decor is my favourite but red is a great choice too. Maybe go for a white, and gold theme if you're not into the traditional pink and reds.

Biodegradable balloons, paper lanterns, and eco-friendlyconfettican add tons of cheer to your party space. You can also create a festive atmosphere by hanging a balloon garland, flower garlands or string lights.

A brunch-themed menu is always a good idea, with options like waffles or pancakes Heart-shaped food is a great option too, for eg. heart-shaped pizza and heart-shaped cake.

To keep up with the eco-friendly theme, make the food yourself and try to opt for vegetarian options as meat tends to have larger carbon footprint.

You could organise a bake-off and ask your guests to bring their favourite homemade sweet treats. Who doesn't love friendly competition?

Depending on your budget, private chefs are a great opportunity for a bit of luxury. I have attended a few events where a private chef has cooked for me and the family and it really did make the party extra special.

For a more sophisticated menu, consider a charcuterie board with a variety of cheeses, crackers, fruits, and nuts.

If you're feeling adventurous, organise a cheese or chocolate fondue night with a variety of dipping options like bread, strawberries, marshmallows, and cookies.

Try and opt for no straws but if you feel it is needed paper or stainless steel ones are best.

There are many activities you can plan for a fun Galentine's Day party. You could have a movie night and watch some of your favourite romantic comedies or chick flicks.

Alternatively, you could plan a craft night and make DIY Valentine's Day cards or friendship bracelets. A fun activity I love is to host a game night with board games or card games.

A DIY photo booth is a fun and easy way to add some extra entertainment to your Galentine's Day party. You can create a simple backdrop using a colourful fabric. Source any fabric from charity shops and thrift stores if you don't have any suitable at home.

I usually add some props I have at home like hats and glasses to make your photos even more fun.

Polaroid Memories

For a more nostalgic touch, set up a Polaroid camera station if you have a camera. I have the instax mini in blue that I absolutely love!

Your guests can take photos and then hang them up on a clothesline or pin them to a corkboard. This way, you can create a physical memory board that you can keep and look back on for years to come.

You can also give your guests a Polaroid photo as a party favour.

One fun way to exchange gifts is to play Secret Cupid. (Valentines Day's answer to Secret Santa) This is a game where everyone draws a name out of a hat and then buys a secondhand or DIY gift for the person they drew.

You can fill them with small eco-friendly gifts that you know each person will love, such as their favourite sweets, a DIY body butter orcoffee scrub, or a scented candle.
